How to block 400 sales calls in Spain on Android and iPhone

Since 17 October, companies calling to sell you something in Spain must use a number starting with 400. The upside: you know what it is before you pick up. The downside: they keep calling, and every campaign uses different numbers.

Your phone can block specific numbers out of the box, but not every number starting with 400. Blocking them one by one doesn't work — tomorrow they'll call from another. What you need is to block the whole prefix, and that's what we've added to Block-Spam.

On Android: open Block-Spam and, in the app's settings, tap "Commercial calls (400)". Choose whether to block them, silence them so they don't ring, or let them ring and get told it's a sales call. The setting only appears with a Spanish SIM.

On iPhone: open Block-Spam, tap "Commercial calls (400)" and choose to block them or to let them ring with a warning. Also make sure the Block-Spam extensions are enabled in Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification. From then on, your iPhone takes care of it.

Want to get some of them, like your bank or your energy company? On Android, add them to your allow list; on iPhone, mark them as "This number is not spam". They'll always get through. And calls without the 400 — spam and scams — Block-Spam keeps cutting off as always. It's free and needs no account.
